Who Am I?
Jill L. Coil was born and raised in Salt Lake City, Utah. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with honors from Brigham Young University and went on to receive her Juris Doctorate from Texas Southern University in Houston, Texas. Jill is dually licensed to practice law in both Utah and Texas, with her primary focus on Family Law.
In 2014, Jill founded CoilLaw with a mission to empathize with, protect, and advocate for families navigating the legal system. She has received numerous awards for her outstanding work in family law and is known for her passionate advocacy on behalf of her clients.
Jill is also a legal tech innovator. She launched SimpleEnding.com, a user-friendly online platform designed to provide affordable and accessible divorce solutions without the need for traditional legal representation. Continuing her entrepreneurial journey, she founded Moxie Law Group, one of the first female-led personal injury law firms in Utah.
Jill is also the author of No One Dies from Divorce: How to Survive and Thrive When Your Marriage Ends, a powerful guide designed to help individuals find strength, clarity, and healing through the divorce process.
Beyond the courtroom, Jill is deeply involved in her community. She co-founded The Coil Foundation with her husband, focusing on charitable work that supports families and children. A lifelong volleyball enthusiast, she recently co-founded VIP Academy, a competitive volleyball club based in North Texas dedicated to developing athletes both on and off the court.
Jill is a proud mother of four and, whenever possible, enjoys traveling the world with her family.

Jill Coil is an expert and leading lady in her field of family law and female empowerment. She has spent the past two decades guiding families through one of the most difficult times in their lives. As a lawyer she has fought to protect the rights of parents and ensure the safety of children. As an author she has written a book, No One Dies From Divorce, How to Survive and Thrive When Your Marriage Ends. And as an entrepreneur she continues to innovate and bring the legal field forward through technology to decrease the access to justice gap. Jill is married to her biggest advocate, Ryan, and she is mother to Lexi, Max, Paxton and Moxie. Her mission is to help others know they are worthy of opportunities.

She received her Juris Doctorate in Houston Texas at Texas Southern University. She is dually licensed in both Texas and Utah where she has focused her practice on Family Law. Jill founded Coillaw in December of 2014 with the goal of empathizing, protecting, and advocating for families through legal representation. She has received many awards in Utah for her on-going work in family law cases and her avocation for her clients. Jill also has a tech start up called Simpleending.com bringing affordable quality online divorce technology to the public without the need to hire an attorney. She also recently launched a female led Personal Injury firm, Moxie Law Group. She is actively engaged in her community through charitable work through The Coil foundation which she started with her husband. She is a mother of four amazing children and when possible loves to travel the world.
